BLOOMINGTON - Johnnie Ray Hawk, 69, of Bloomington, passed away Thursday (March 10, 2016) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
Johnnie was born Nov. 23, 1946, in Bloomington, to Ora Weldon and Barbara Elsie Shepherd Hawk. He would go on to attend Bloomington High School. On June 21, 1965, he married Virgie McGuffin, with whom he had his three children. During his life, Johnnie worked over 20 years for Funks Seed and 17 years for McLean County.
Johnnie will be remembered by his children, John Alton (Jeanne) Hawk, Minonk; Debra Shawn Hawk, Springfield; and Samuel Weldon Hawk, Bloomington; grandchildren, Daniel Alton (Janelle) Hawk, Wisconsin, and Virginia Marie Hawk, Bloomington; great-grandchildren, Lee and Adam; siblings, Vickie Collins, Curtis (Diane) Hawk and Thomas (Sheryl) Hawk, all of Bloomington, and Timothy Hawk, Kenosha, Wis.; brother-in-law, Gene Kiper; and sister-in-law, Susan Hawk.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora and Barbara; and siblings, Gloria (Danny) Schulz; twin sister, Connie Kiper; J.R. Hawk; and Richard Hawk.
Per Johnnie's wishes, no funeral services will be held.
He was buried in
Stewart Cemetery in Randolph, Illinois where his parents, twin sister Connie and other family members are buried.
