SIOUX CITY, IA - Franklin S. "Mose" Crooks Jr., 63, died Monday, Jan 23, 1995 at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD after a long illness.
Services will be 10:30 am Thursday at the Glendale Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwight A. Gernand officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery.
Mr. Crooks was born March 1, 1931, the son of Franklin S. and Maude (Hughes) Crooks Sr. in Sioux City, IA. He attended Sioux City public schools and was a lifelong resident. He married Patricia M. Pueppke in June 1955 in Sioux City. They were divorced 1972. He was employed at Sioux City Truck Sales for more than 25 years, retiring in 1993 due to health reasons.
Mr. Crooks was a member of Glendale Baptist Church. He was an avid stock car enthusiast. He was a past member of the Iowa National Guard and served in the Navy Seabees during the Korean War in Guam.
Survivors include two daughters, Victoria L. Gruneich of Sioux City and Mrs Daniel (Marge) Graves of Sioux City; two sons, Scott C. Crooks of Sioux City and Doug D. and his wife Glenda of Sioux City. His father Franklin S. Crooks Sr. of Sioux City; a sister and her husband, Donna and Chuck Kass of Sioux City; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maude H. (Hughes) Crooks; two sisters, one in infancy and Carole Lile and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Harlan Gylfe, Jerry Hale, Howard Royalty, Monty Green, Merlin Kass, and Allen Lile.
