Clara Ruth Merrill Carpenter, 88, of Roosevelt, Utah, peacefully passed away April 30, 2018 in Mesa, Maricopa, Arizona. She was born September 20, 1929 in Mesa, Maricopa, Arizona. Her parents are Roy Merrill and Clara Matilda Tippetts. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Reid and five children Janet (Cole), David, JoAnn (Nusser), Lorraine (Sumner) and Julie (Skousen), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruth, as she liked to be known, loved music that filled her life as well as the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was always involved in choir and special musical programs. She loved sewing, cooking, making flowers for weddings and just being able to serve where needed. She has always been an active member of the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints. She served two missions with her husband, Reid, the first one in the Honduras Tegucigalpa Mission and the second in the Guatamala City Temple Mission. Services for Ruth will be held May 5, 2018 at 11 am, Beverly Ward Building, 1056 W 2nd Place, Mesa, AZ 85201. Final resting place will be in Thatcher, Arizona.
