His funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington, IL. Rev. Paul Stroup will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington, IL. Visitation will be 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington, IL. The family suggests memorials be made to Home Sweet Home Mission. Arrangements are being handled by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL.
Jim was born August 17, 1928 in Bloomington, IL the son of Dr. J. Norman and Alice Marquist Elliott. He married Mary V. Peterson on March 10, 1951 in Princeton, IL. She passed away August 17, 2014.

Jim graduated from Bloomington High School and Illinois Wesleyan University with a degree in Business Administration. He had worked at State Farm Insurance Company for 45 years.
Jim was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington, IL, Bloomington Country Club and The Exchange Club. He enjoyed playing golf and loved spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
