Roy was a district foreman for the Indiana Department of Transportation serving Steuben, LaGrange and Noble counties. He retired in August 1997. He was a member of East Springfield Methodist Church, Angola Moose Lodge, Angola Masonic Lodge 236, York Rite and Mizpah Shrine. He was also a 51-year member of the Salem Center Volunteer Fire Department and had served as its chief. He was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard.
He was born Nov. 12, 1932, in Steuben County to Roy E. and Betty (Elkins) Aaron. He married Kathryn Newnam on April 16, 1952. She survives in Angola. Also surviving are a son, Jim and Tami Aaron of Angola; two daughters, Barb and Mike Bratton of Angola and Janet Kain of Orland; a sister, Bonnie (John) Book of Angola; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Burial will be in Flint Cemetery in Steuben County.
