Visitation will be observed on Friday, May 11, 2018, from 9:00 am until the time of service, at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette.
Interment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette.
Reverend Weldon Moak, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Broussard, will officiate.
Dolores was born August 18, 1936, in Lafayette and was a lifetime resident of Acadiana. She was a homemaker, relished spending time with her family and friends, was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to her flowers and plants. Dolores was a member of First Baptist Church in Lafayette. Most of all, she loved the Lord with all of her heart.
Dolores is survived by two sons, William E. Gerald, Jr. and his wife, Jackie of Lafayette and Kevin D. Gerald and his wife, Donna of Wake Forest, NC; four daughters, Charlotte Gerald Lucchesi of Lafayette, Melissa Gerald Bagwell and her husband, David of Lafayette, Leslie Gerald Anders and her husband, Kent of Bastrop, Courtney Gerald Elkins and her husband, Dale of Lafayette; her brother, Robert Joseph Broussard; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Gerald, Sr.; her parents, Adelbert and Adolphina (Richard) Broussard and two brothers, John Allen Broussard, Sr., and Gilbert Roy Broussard.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of Acadiana and Courtyard Manor for the compassionate care given to Dolores and her family.
