Alice was raised in Elmwood, Nebraska where she graduated from High School. She was united in marriage to Verl A.W. Brunkow on July 24, 1940 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Louisville, Nebraska. They made their home in Murdock, where Verl was Postmaster. It was there that they raised their daughter, Mary. After Verl’s retirement, they moved to Branson, Missouri. While in Branson, Alice used her excellent baking skills to work at the local Wayne’s Resturant making pies. During those retirement years, they also enjoyed attending auctions and collecting antique kerosene lanterns.
After Verl’s death, Alice moved back to Nebraska and made her home in Eagle. She spent time volunteering at her Church, Immanuel Lutheran, cooking and baking for family and enjoying time in her garden. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed time working on various quilting projects.
She is survived by Daughter: Mary (Mike) Palmer of Lincoln; Grandchildren: Micah J. (Kristin) Palmer of Denton, NE, Colby W. (Jenny) Palmer of Lincoln, Kelsey C. (Aubrey Ressel) Palmer of Lincoln; 11 Great Grandchildren nieces, MaryLou (Bob) Ross of Drury, MO, Dala Tamayo and family of Cedar Rapids, IA, nephew, Amos Hall of Hutchinson, KS, great niece, Laurie Kirby of Annapolis, Mo. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Verl and brother, Clark Hall.
