Mrs. Dunkley, daughter of Emerson and Bettye Walker Mitchell was born in Grand Cane, LA and died at her daughter's residence in Keithville, LA. She was a member the St. James Baptist Church in Ridgecrest, LA and a retired school teacher and girls basketball coach (Ferriday High School) for Concordia Parish School System for over 30 years.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two children, Michaelynne D. Franklin and her husband Marcus of Keithville, LA; Shelvey Mark Dunkley and his wife, Gussie of Mansfield, LA; one sister-in-law, Elsie Mitchell of Shreveport, LA; two special nieces, Barbara Ann Mitchell of Atlanta, GA and Debra Edwards of Houston, TX; one aunt, Gertrude Long of Longstreet, LA; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Dunkley is preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children, Shelvey J. Dunkley.
