In what was termed a great loss to Everman, funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Davey "Stoney" Sonnenburg, who was killed instantly Sunday afternoon at 6:30 p.m. when the motorcycle he was riding collided head-on with a car on Lakeside Drive in Benbrook, Texas, about 100 feet west of the Trinity River bed.

Charges have been filed by the Benbrook Police against the driver of the car involved in the accident according to the Benbrook Chief of Police. The accident was said to have been witnessed by several persons including police officers.

Sonnenburg was the son of Mrs. Alta "Sunny" Sonnenburg of Ft. Worth, and Mr. Edwin A. Sonnenburg of Everman and was a 1974 graduate of Everman High School. He had attended Tarrant County Junior College, South Campus and was currently manager of Jamie's Food Store in Fort Worth, and was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Fort Worth.

An estimated 800 friends and relatives attended the services at Moore's Chapel in Fort Worth with the Rev. George Crittenden officiating. He was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery following the service.

Sonnenburg lived in Everman since he was 6 years old and went through school here. He is survived by, in addition to his parents, Grandmother Mrs. A.A. Sonnenburg, 3433 Ave. C, Fort Worth, Grandfather Alvie Dickson, Amarillo; Grandmother Mrs. Grace Collins, Fort Worth, aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Berry, Fort Worth.
