He was on board Support Landing Craft 252 ( H.M. L.C.S. (L) 252. ) which was one of 3 lost in Operation Infatuate, Walcheren Island Landings, Holland, November 1, 1944.
Various other types of LC were lost in the same action.

He is buried in Bergen-Op-Zoom War Cemetery. 6.C.2. This is to the North of Antwerp.
