Wanda J. (Meleski) Bench, 96, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on April 23, 2018. She was born to Albert and Verna Meleski in Chappell Hill, Texas. She retired from Continental Can Company after many years of service. As a devout Catholic, she was an active member of the Altar & Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of America, Court #1750. She was a life-long member of Polish National Alliance Progressive Lodge #2336 and served on the Board of Polish Home Inc. She is survived by her children Jean Baxter and husband Jack, Robert Bench and wife Georgie; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Stephanie Meleski Cegelski, as well as many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, April 26 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the chapel of Heights Funeral Home, the Rosary will be recited at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Friday, April 27 at Christ The King Catholic Church, 4419 North Main, Houston, Texas 77009. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer.
