Gloria S. (Gohn) Anstine, 82, of York, died peacefully at 12:40 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2007, at York Hospital. She was the wife of William L. Anstine, with whom she celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this past January 19th. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Faith United Church of Christ, 509 Pacific Ave., York, with her pastor, the Rev. Ron Oelrich officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, York. There will be no viewing. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is in charge of the arrangements. Born on January 3, 1925, in York, Gloria was the daughter of the late Horace and Charlotte (Lightner) Gohn. Gloria worked as a secretary at a number of companies in the York area for all of her adult life, where she earned the trust and respect of her co-workers, many of whom became her lifelong friends. She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ and a former member of Stephens United Church of Christ. She was active in many church related activities over the years. She also was instrumental in the facilitating of class reunions for William Penn Senior High School Class of 19M42. She was an avid reader and in her later years became a journal keeper and a poet. Mrs. Anstine will be greatly missed by her husband and children, William C. Anstine of York, Noreen E. Fulton of Red Lion; her granddaughter, Cecelia L. Falkin; great-grandson, Seth Elliot Alger of Los Angeles Calif.; her brother-in-law, C. Robert Anstine and wife, Jean of New Bloomfield; her bestfriend and sister in spirit, Betty DeLancey of York; and by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Goldie Burke and Evelyn Kapp.
