Professor Harry P. Jeffrey Jr. passed away November 4, 2007 in Orange, California; he was 70. Harry was a Fairmont H. S. graduate who attended Dartmouth College, BA.; Ohio State University, MA. and Columbia University, PHD. He taught history at California State University, Fullerton as a specialist in 20th century US history. Among his many academic achievements was founding director of the Richard Nixon Oral History Project. Students and those who were privileged to hear him lecture loved his ability to bring events to life with gusto, humor and anecdotal reference. His second passion, politics, allowed Harry to move from the reportage of a historian to being an activist. He was a member and officer of numerous political organizations and worked tirelessly as a volunteer on many campaigns and issues. He served as the senior administrative aide to Senator John Heinz during a Sabbatical from his teaching duties. He ran unsuccessfully for the Ohio House of Representatives and for the US. House from California's 40th district. Harry leaves behind his wife Mee Young: daughter, Clara; son Robert; grandchildren Marieke and Lex and sisters Susu and Julie.
