Thomas Allen Cover, age 67, of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018. He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years Julianne (nee Zivanov), his daughter Sarah (Dan) Thompson, his son Michael (Danielle) Cover, and his beloved grandchildren Elizabeth and Jacob Thompson, Veronica and Benjamin Cover. He is the brother of Robert (Cheryl) Cover, Karen Cover (Ted Cushard) and the late Gregory Cover, uncle to four nieces and nephews, and three great nephews.

Tom was born April 3, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio. Firstborn of Catherine L. (nee Allen) and Robert E. Cover, he was raised in Warren, MI with three siblings. Tom attended St. Anne Grade School, graduated from Warren High School, earned his B.S. and M.B.A at Wayne State University, and earned his Law Degree, Dr. of Jurisprudence, from the Detroit College of Law in 1982, now the Michigan State University College of Law. He was admitted to the bar that same year and was licensed in Michigan for 36 years. Tom was the Director of National Accounts at General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC), where he worked for 31 years. Prior to his retirement, he was the COO of HRFG LLC. Tom came from a BSA family and earned Eagle Scout rank in 1966. Tom loved his Harleys, his plane, his dogs, and spirited conversation, but his true joy was time spent with his family. Tom and Julie were married in February 1974. They raised two children, traveled the country, and enjoyed time “up north” at Houghton Lake. Tom’s pride in his children and grandchildren was immeasurable.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 15th, from 4 PM to 8 PM at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Road (between Maple and Big Beaver Roads) 248-362-2500. On Wednesday, May 16th, visitation at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 4580 Adams Rd (between Wattles and Long Lake Roads) begins at 10:30 AM. Mass will be at 11 AM.
