Alston, Virgil Deleanor, 79, of Whitesboro NJ, passed away on November 21, 2015. "Bird", son of the late Eddie J. and Bettie Alston, loving husband of Irene Keith Alston, passed after an extensive battle with Multiple Sclerosis in the Genesis Convalescent Center, Cape May Court House, NJ. In addition to his wife Irene he is survived by his children Jaime, Kendall, and Veronica. Virgil was an integral part of many lives including raising a host of step children: Debra, Lloyd, Beverly, Leroy (Champ), and Leslie Hatcher. He is also survived by his siblings Sadie Alston, Delores Grant, and Allen Alston. Nicknamed "Bird", he devoted much of his life mentoring those around him in the areas of auto mechanics which was his passion and career. He also loved baseball, TD Jakes, and Whitney Houston and was very strategic with having those around him fall in love with his passions too. His laughter, his charm, his goodwill, his love, his compassion to teach, love for his wife's cooking, playfulness with his grands and great grandchildren, and mechanical skillset will be sorely missed by his family and friends. The family wants to give a special thank you to all of his care givers for their expertise, attention, and love given during his time of transition. Home Going Service will take place at his home church, New Hope Pentecostal Church, 460 Shunpike Road, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210 on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 2 p.m. Viewing will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Household of Ruth Cemetery, Whitesboro, NJ.
