Iona (Dennistoun) Anderson, 87, of Redwood Falls, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2001 [Oct. 10, 2001].
Services are Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls with burial in the Redwood Falls cemetery. Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. at Nelson-Martin Funeral Home in Redwood Falls and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary and husband Robert V. Miller of Renville, and two granddaughters; Janine Miller of Eagan and Janelle Wertish and husband Jeremy of Renville.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; Peter Dennistoun and Floyd Anderson; an infant son; two brothers, Donald and Vernon; and a sister Vivian Boyle.
She was born April 14, 1914, in Flora Township, Renville County, to Christian and Emma (Miller) Schaefer. She moved with her family to Beaver Falls attending Beaver Falls Elementary School and graduating from Morton High School in 1932.
She married Peter A. Dennistoun on March 1, 1938. They farmed in Paxton Township near Redwood Falls. He died June 11, 1960.
She was a sales clerk at the Ben Franklin store for 18 years, retiring in 1978.
On Jan. 28, 1978, she married Floyd Anderson at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. He died Jan. 31, 1991.
She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. She belonged to the American Legion and V.F.W. Auxiliary.
