Frank had a reputation for being an intelligent, compassionate and wonderful man and physician, who demonstrated that compassion on a daily basis in his care for his patients. From doing house calls in his early practice to his love and compassion for geriatric patients, his bed-side manner and passion for the practice of medicine was recognized throughout the community. In 1990, Frank was remarried to Elzada Stepp. They have since lived happily in their home north of Boise, where they shared a mutual passion for fishing, horseback riding, the great outdoors, traveling overseas, spending time with family and simply being with each other as much as possible. Frank had a passion for fly fishing, hunting and the great outdoors. He also loved to go to field-trials where he had the opportunity to ride his Tennessee Walking horses and watch his English Pointers at work. In 2006, Frank was recognized for his life-long contribution to field trialing by being inducted into the Boise Valley Pointing Dog Club Hall of Fame. Frank was also an avid reader and had an appreciation for the arts, theatre, classical music and fine cooking. Frank is survived by his wife Elzada, his son Jim (Rhonda) and their children, Amanda, Cori, Kristen and Jacey of Seattle; son Bob (Oksana) of Boise; son John (Chris) and their children Liv and Stile of Seattle; daughter Amy (Glen) and their children Pete and Andy of Eagle, and his sisters, Irene Lalonde and Rosemary Barnes of Michigan. A celebration of Frank´s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18 at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 Fairview Avenue in Boise followed by a graveside blessing at Dry Creek Cemetery. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Donald Stott, Dr. Graham Weatherly, Dr. David Oakes, and Tami Cline and Norm Schrumm of XL Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Frank. Frank, you are a shining example of all that is good in the world. Unselfishly, you gave so much to so many. Your wisdom, compassion, love, and friendship touched us all. You will be missed each and every day, but your spirit will be with us forever.
