Ida S. Farrar, past away July 1, 1992 surrounded by family after a short illness.
A native of Noble, Mo, Ida lost her mother while still an infant and was raised by the family of the doctor that delivered her.
After moving to California in 1924, she settled in Santa Maria and meet her future husband, Cecil R. Farrar, married and settled in Watsonville, California.
Mrs. Farrar did dressmaking and alteration work for a number of years before going to work as a manager at the E. A. Hall Cafeteria in Watsonville. She served as Supervisor of Food Services for the Pajaro Valley Unified School District for 21 years.
As a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Watsonville, Mrs. Farrar spent many years as a Deaconess, a fourth grade Sunday School teacher and secretary-treasurer of the Sunday School.
She leaves her husband, Cecil R. Farrar Sr., son and daughter in-law. Cecil and Dorothy Farrar of Alhambra, California, a daughter, Marilyn S Farrar of Watsonville, three grand children, Mark, Brian and Rhonda Farrar, three great-grand children, Sean, Katie and Jeff Farrar of Riverside, California. She also leaves her sister, Effie Duff of Anita Iowa.
The family prefers that any contributions be sent to the Hospice Caring Project in Aptos, California, the Mount Hermon Association in Mount Hermon, California or the First Baptist Church of Watsonville.
Memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Watsonville, with burial to follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
