Alonzo Girdler, 70, Bourbon Road, Somerset, died Friday, December 31, at Lake Cumberland Medical Center following a short illness.

Born June 1, 1906, in Pulaski County, he was the son of Jerry and Mary Rosetta West Girdler, both of whom preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, the former Opal Johnson, whom he married June 30, 1924; 11 children, Clifford Ray Girdler, Danny Lee Girdler and Roy Berdell Girdler, all of Findlay, Ohio, Lonnie Girdler, Robert Willard Girdler, Mary Alpha Phillips, Delphia Rogers, and Sue Ann Calhoun, all of Somerset, Juanita Kallungi, Lake Ozark, Missouri, Elsie Harrison, Midfield, Alabama and Patricia Lynn Henderson, Sidney, Ohio; 43 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He lived here all his life where he was a farmer and a railroader. He attended Somerset Nazarene Church.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday January 3, at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home, Somerset Chapel, with Rev. A.A. Farris officiating.

Burial was in the West Cemetery.
