Married Juliette Persons on 3 Feb 1951, in Montgomery, Alabama.

Obituary:
Long-time Anniston attorney, Charles Senn Doster died on March 17, 2017.

He was born in Birmingham on March 12, 1927. He graduated from University Of North Carolina and the University of Alabama School of Law. At Alabama, he met a fellow law student, Juliette Persons, and they married in February 1951. Their wedding reception was the first party at the newly-renovated Governor's Mansion in Montgomery. Juliette's uncle, Gordon Persons, had just been inaugurated. They were married for 66 years.

Juliette and Charlie moved to Anniston in 1951. Charlie practiced law until his retirement in 2005. Charlie was chairman of the board of the Carnegie Library on Sept. 15, 1963, when the attempt to integrate the library was temporarily foiled. This was the day when the Revs. N.Q. Reynolds and Robert McClain were beaten by klansmen as they approached the doors of the library. They recovered from their injuries and the library welcomed African Americans shortly thereafter without incident. A member of the Rotary Club of Anniston, Charlie remained active for 58 years.

He was instrumental in creating the Alabama Scenic River Trail was also involved in creating the Chief Ladiga Trail, a 33-mile bike trail that stretches from Anniston to the Alabama-Georgia line.

He is survived by his wife, Juliette Persons Doster; two daughters; three grandchildren, and Wakefield, his beloved Scottish terrier.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Department of Human Resources Adult Services, 415 West 11th St. Anniston , AL 36202, YWCA of Central Alabama/End Domestic Violence, 2324 3rd Ave. North, Birmingham, AL 35203, or Grace Episcopal Church, PO Box 1791, Anniston, AL 36202.
