Born in Elizabeth, she grew up in Clark, then resided in the Chester/Mendham area for the last six years. She was a program manager for Alternatives Inc., a nonprofit social service agency in Raritan, for the past six years. Mrs. Brecheisen was a 1991 graduate of A.L. Johnson High School in Clark and a graduate of Rutgers University with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology. Through her profession, Amy dedicated her life to caring for people with developmental disabilities and mental illness.
Mrs. Brecheisen is survived by her husband, Kurt W. Brecheisen; her father, Douglas J. Turner of Berkeley Heights; her mother, Barbara Yantz of Point Pleasant; a brother, Douglas J. Turner III of Edison; her paternal grandmother, Joan Turner of Berkeley Heights, and three nephews.
Funeral services will take place 9 a.m. Saturday at the Vanderhoven Chapel at Hazelwood Cemetery, Lake Avenue, Clark. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery, Clark. Friends and relatives may call 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. today at The Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home, 275 W. Milton Ave., Rahway.
