MARION: Verlon Mack Glover, age 74, of 3200 Smeltzer Rd. Lot 91, Marion passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at 3:30 p.m. in the Marion General Hospital.

He was born on December 26, 1934 in Double Springs, Alabama to the late Melvin and Edith (Steele) Glover. On September 29, 1956 he married Bettye M. McLemore in Chicago, IL. and she survives. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Mack was a member of the Marion First Church of the Nazarene, American Legion post in Waldo, and V.F.W. Post 3313. He was an electronics engineer for 27 years with McDonnell -Douglas which is now Boeing. A Marion resident since 1996, he moved here from Huntington Beach, California.

Surviving are two sons, Dwayne D. (Sara) Glover of Coatesville, Pa. and Jeffery W. (Sherri) Glover of Huntington Beach, Ca.; a sister; Betty A. (Edgar) Bauer of Oxford, Mich.; two grandchildren, Jamie (Christopher) McMichen and Chance M. Glover; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Mack was preceded in death by a brother; Charles Glover.

A memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Riley Powell on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. in the Marion First Church of the Nazarene. Calling hours will be at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time and burial will be at a later date in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mt. Olympus, Indiana.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Marion First Church of the Nazarene.
