She was born on Nov. 13, 1930, to George and Pearl (Peerman) Newlin.
Mary is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Kirk Sanders, Karen Metheney and Lisa and Bill Peithmann; one son, Larry Midyette; four grandsons and their wives, Jacob and Misty Sanders, Caleb and Jodi Sanders, Adam Metheney, Logan McCann; one granddaughter, Allison Smith; two great-grandchildren, Owen and Nora Sanders; two nephews and their wives, Lloyd and Jo Ann Settle and David and Bonnie Settle; and three special great nieces and their husbands; Sheila (Settle) and David Fowler, Emily (Settle) and Drake DeVore and Kathleen Settle.
Mary loved her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She was the pianist at Webbs Chapel Methodist Church and will be missed by her dear friends there. Mary was Assistant Librarian at McCoy Memorial Library where she was loved by young and old for her ready smile and kind word.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Midyette; a brother, Lloyd Newlin and by a sister, Helen Settle.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Johnston Funeral Home in Ina, with the Rev. John Capps officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Whittington. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
