Lt. Colonel (Retired) Ronald Andrew Guziec was born November 10, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska. He died resting peacefully in his home in the quiet Dallas suburb of Double Oak, Texas on September 14, 2017 at the age of 74 years, 10 months, 4 days. He was the son of Andrew Joseph Guziec and Marie Schneider Guziec.
Ronald graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics and political science. Upon graduation, he immediately joined the United States Air Force and attended Officer Candidate School in San Antonio, Texas at Lackland Air Force Base. On March 20, 1966, he married Nancy Christine Cole, the daughter of Thomas Ross Cole III and Eva Christine Tucker Cole in Wichita, KS. His first assignment was at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona. From there his 28-year, decorated career in the Air Force took him all over the world, including Da Nang Vietnam, Prüm Germany, S.H.A.P.E. Belgium and Seoul Korea.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Marie Guziec, brother Robert Joseph Guziec and son, Steven Andrew Guziec. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Christine, his daughter, Andrea Christine, and his son, Douglas Alan and his wife, Michelle Judith Powell Guziec – as well as three grandchildren, Andrew Michael Guziec, Peyton Elizabeth Guziec and Carson Steven Guziec.
Throughout his life Ronald enjoyed the sports of golf, fishing, darts and bowling – as well as playing all manner of card games, teaching his adult children variants on poker just days before his death.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 16 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home. Visitation will be one-hour prior from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Interment at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, September 17 in the Lamont Cemetery, Lamont, OK. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars.
