SWAN VALLEY -- Colby "Ernie" Ralph Beard, 22, of Driggs, Idaho, died July 6, 2008, doing what he loved, riding in the outdoors, at the Upper Palisade Lakes near Swan Valley, Idaho.

He was born Aug. 14, 1985, in Rexburg, to Gary and Sheila Hatch Beard. He lived in Teton Valley. He graduated from Teton High School, Eastern Idaho Technical Col- lege and received his journeyman's electrician license. He worked as an electrician for Hill Electric.

He loved being with his family and friends, cherished the time spent hunting with his dad and brother, enjoyed rebuilding bicycles, motorcycles, pickups, and snowmobiles for himself and his innumerable friends, and loved hunting, fishing, camping, riding horses and anything that was fast.

Survivors include his parents, Gary (Jeanette) Beard and Sheila (Dale) Weeks, all of Driggs; siblings, Owen (Stephanie) Beard of St. George, Utah, Brett Logan of Great Falls, Mont., Shawn (Megan) Weeks of Victor, Aubrey (Mitch) Ripplinger, Janice Logan, Angie (Jeremy) Kincaid and Shayla Weeks, all of Driggs, and Celeste (Jamon) Hahn of Bozeman, Mont.; grandparents, Lyle and Trixie Beard of Tetonia and Jim Hatch of Driggs; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a brother, Jacob Nathaniel Beard; grandmother, LaRee Hatch; uncle, Ralph Hatch; and aunt, Trina Hatch.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at the Driggs LDS Stake Center. The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Valley Mortuary in Driggs and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. before services at the church. Burial will be in Cache-Clawson Cemetery in Tetonia.
