EDDS, FRANCES KATHERINE (NEEDY), 96, of Portland, passed away Friday, March 21, 2008 at her daughter and caregiver's home. She was delivered into her Heavenly Father's arms surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted mother, wife and grandmother, and a longtime member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, George; sons, George and Pete; parents, Eva Bischof and Newton Needy; five brothers, one sister; and grandson, Paul F. Edds. Survived by daughter, Mary Edds Ash (Paul); son, Robert L. Edds Sr. (Elsie); daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Edds; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; her devoted friend, Marsha Parr; and her beloved pet, Tinker Bell. Her funeral mass will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Cecilia Church, 338 North 25th Street, followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Monday at J. B. Ratterman & Sons, 2114 West Market Street. Memorial gifts may be made to Mass of the Air.
