BISHOP, THOMAS LEONARD, 75, of Crestwood, KY, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Baptist Hospital Northeast, surrounded by his children. Born in Princeton, KY on January 1, 1936, to Charles and Bernice Bishop (deceased). He attended Butler High School and UofL, earning a BS in business commerce. Tom served in the US Air Force and KY National Guard before beginning his career in Washington DC with the FBI in 1955. He retired as a senior resident agent on January 3, 1986. After his retirement, he worked as an investigator with the KY Attorney Generals Office. In addition to his professional career, Tom was a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry 32nd degree and a Shriner. Tom has been a loving and devoted caretaker for Ann, his wife of 49 years. Other survivors include his sons, Hugh of Sarasota, FL, Kevin (Molly) of Nashville, TN, and their children, Collin and Daniel; daughter, Susan of Louisville, and her children, Benjamin (Jocelyn) Acland of Los Angeles, CA, and Emily Acland of Washington, DC; and Tom's sister, Barbara Burns of Burlington, VT. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, at St. James Episcopal Church, 401 LaGrange Road, Pewee Valley, KY. Services by Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kosair Charities, PO Box 37370, Louisville, KY, 40233.
