Kenneth "Gene" Allman, age 81, of Cranberry, formerly of Gainesville, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 29th, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem. He was born in Concord, NC to the late Parks W. and Novella Eagle Allman. In addition to his parents, Gene was also preceded in death by his son, Benjamin Gene Allman. Gene was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was a member of Newland United Methodist Church. His hobbies included NASCAR Racing, classic western movies and TV shows. Gene will be remembered as loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by those fortunate enough to have known him.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 59 years, Brownell Ollis Allman; daughters: Sherry Allman McElroy and her husband, Richard, of Gainesville, GA and Angela Allman Garrison and her husband, Dana, of Dawsonville, GA; son, Kenneth Dean Allman and his wife, Julie, of Dawsonville, GA; grandchildren: Amy McElroy of Austin, TX, Travis McElroy of Athens, GA, Parks Pope of Atlanta, GA, Kenley Pope of Dawsonville, GA, Drake Garrison and his wife, Emily, of Quantico, VA, Drew Garrison of Dawsonville, GA, and Tiffany Thompson and her husband, Andy, of Dawsonville, GA; and great-grandchild, Fuller Thompson. Several family members of the "Big House" home-place and loving friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 1st at Newland United Methodist Church. Pastor Dr. Gene Ammons and Grace Calhoun will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Sunday, June 3rd at 2 p.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gainesville, GA, and will be officiated by Rev. Andy Thompson.
