Barbara Louise LaBarr, age 77, gained her heavenly angel wings to go be with her creator on May 30th, 2018. She was surrounded by family at Cottage in the Meadow where she passed away peacefully.

Barbara Louise Morris was born on October 18th, 1940 in Yakima, WA, to Willard and Pearl Morris. Barbara began her life in Naches where she attended school until the family moved to Tieton. She finished her education and graduated from Highland High School in 1959. It was in school where she met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Erving LaBarr, who she married in 1959. Later that year their family was blessed with a special Christmas present, welcoming into the world their firstborn son Irving (JR) and two years later Robert (Bob). They were over the moon in love with their two sons as life began on the fast track of a family of four. They enjoyed many family adventures in the mountains camping and clam digging at Ocean Shores.

Barbara worked in nursing homes as a caregiver and at bakeries making many beautiful cakes. Her life then led to her calling; she started a daycare at home for several years where she cared for many children in the Cowiche area. These children along with her own were her passion, and all throughout the years her daycare kids continued to visit her.

The next chapter in Barbara’s life was when she became a grandma to AJ and Lance whom she adored. She was always very involved in their lives, never missing a ball game, sporting event or school performance. Barbara especially enjoyed taking her grandkids to Disneyland every year, camping trips, and spending time at their cabin seeing all of God’s creations around them. She also made several trips to Hawaii where her granddaughter AJ is stationed with the Coast Guard. She was beyond proud of her grandkids and all of their accomplishments.

Barbara gained two lovely bonus granddaughters Meghan and Brittany. She was also blessed with three amazing great-grandchildren, Riley, Tayler and Savannah. Her grandkids and great-grandchildren were the sunshine that brought so much joy and happiness into her life. She loved capturing all the special times they spent together taking photos and making them scrapbooks.

Barbara is survived by her husband Erving LaBarr, granddaughter AJ (Brittany) LaBarr, grandson Lance (Meghan) LaBarr, three great-grandchildren, two sisters, Wilma (Jim) Sharples, and Joyce (Don) McBride, brother Bill (Donna) Morris, daughter-in-law Lisa Richards, sisters-in-law Delores, Darlene, and Yvonne, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Barbara was preceded in death by her two sons, Irving (JR) and Robert (Bob), her parents Willard and Pearl Morris, brother Larry Morris, as well as her father-in-law and mother-in-law.

Those we love don’t ever go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near and in our hearts, still loved, still missed and very dear.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Valley Hills Funeral Home (2600 Business Ln., Yakima). A graveside service will be Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Naches Cemetery (Kel Lowry Rd., Naches).
