Jean Bernice WILLIAMS (1927 - 2018)

Jean (Age 90) was called to Heaven on May 30, 2018. With the comfort of her daughter Gloria by her side, Jean passed peacefully in the loving and caring community of Brookdale Park Place, Spokane, WA. Jean, the youngest of seven children, was born on September 23, 1927 in Grafton, ND. At age 14, she moved with her family to Longview, WA. She graduated from R. A. Long High School.

Following graduation, she worked at Bell Telephone as an operator where she met the love of her life, Jack Williams. Jack and Jean married in 1947, celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary in July of 2017. In 1979, Jack and Jean moved from Longview to Yakima where they resided for 10 years. They relocated in 1990 to Spokane to reside near their daughter, son-in-law, and three grandsons.

The presence of Jean's warm spirit, embraced by her bright smile, was sure to make a difference in anyone's day. She lived a fulfilling life enjoying holidays, celebrated events and activities with numerous family members as they were very close and lived within the same community. Some of Jean's fondest memories were the many years she and Jack spent at a cabin they purchased in the late 1950s along with her parents, sister Esther, brother-in-law Harry, niece Thelma and her husband Doug in Ocean Park, WA on Long Beach Peninsula.

Displays of memorabilia collected throughout the years are exhibited in and around the cabin, reflecting activities enjoyed by all. The legacies live on while next generation family members continue to embrace the amenities of this very special cabin.
Jean's talent with needlepoint, embroidery and knitting has been appreciated by family and friends who received special gifts such as sweaters, Christmas stockings, embroidered quilt blocks and tea towels.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Tena and Rupert Napper, her elder siblings and daughter Jacquiline Lee Williams.

She is survived by her husband Jack Williams, daughter Gloria Spaulding, grandsons Roger Spaulding (Cybil), Brett Spaulding, Brian Spaulding, grandaughter Chayla and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks and appreciation to staff members at Brookdale Park Place. Their compassion and superior care provided comfort to Jean and a warm welcome to family. Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, www.kindredhospicefoundation.org or to Alzheimer's Research Foundation, http://www.alzheimersresearchfoundation.com.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, June 7 at 2:30 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224.
