Mr. Carnie Glen Taylor ,95, Pine Ridge Health Care Center, formerly of 160 Panhandle Road, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord, on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness.

A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late J.V. and Susan Rambo Taylor. He was a former employee of Watauga and Bunton Chevrolet and was the oldest living member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church. Mr. Taylor was an avid fan of the Unaka High School Basketball Team. He was a farmer and he loved to raise his garden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three wives, Maude Lacey Taylor; Faye Honeycutt Taylor; Effie Grindstaff Taylor; an infant son, Sherrill Taylor; brothers Clyde and Robert Taylor and a son-in-law, Chester DeLawder.

Mr. Taylor is survived by four daughters and one son-in-law, Pat and Ed Rigney; Glenda DeLawder, all of Elizabethton; Dallas Knight of Green Castle, PA; Sherry Miller of Bradenton, FL; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Darrell and Charlotte Taylor, Johnson City; Javy and Ann Taylor and Estill and Ruby Taylor all of Elizabethton. Eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The graveside service and interment will be on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the Ensor Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Deacons of the Dungan Chapel Baptist Church, special friend, Glen Arnold and Tom Oxendine, and Roger Carver. Honorary pallbearers will be the trustees of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church, Bobby Carr and Dejuane Sheffield.
