Mildred was born on January 2, 1919, the fifth child of Stant and Katie Arnold on the old family farm near Hartman, AR. Mildred graduated Hartman High School in 1936 and worked at many and varied jobs throughout her life. She advanced from farm work to the position of Vice President of Buying at The Thrifty Corporation where her influence was felt by many on both coasts in the retail business world. Mildred's
honesty, desire for excellence and dedication to her profession earned her great respect from her colleagues at Thrifty Corporation, and won her a place of honor in the health and beauty aid industry. During her 40 year career at Thrifty she mentored many young women who still sing her praises today.
Mildred married Homer T. Wolf in 1956 and enjoyed many
happy years with him, missing him greatly after his death about 25 years ago. In retirement she found a whole new life in her beloved desert, trying the game of golf, making many new friends around her home community in Rancho Mirage, and caring for her little dog, Pierre.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Homer; two
sisters, Rita Snoddy and Irene Sparks; and one brother, Hill Arnold, as well as her parents. She is survived by one brother, Mack Arnold; one sister, Dorothy Jacob; and seven nieces.
Mildred is loved deeply and will be missed by many.
Private family graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana, CA, followed by a memorial service in Rancho Las Palmas on
Thursday, April 26, 2007. In lieu of flowers, the family
suggests donations to the Lucy Curci Cancer Center at
