Anna Marie Engel Eckelmann was born on January 1, 1810 in Bohmte, Lower Saxony, Germany. Her parents were Friederich Rudolph Eckelmann (Businessman, Proprietor of a Postal Office, and innkeeper in Bohmte) and Catharine Marie Elisabeth Kleinschnier. Anna was married two times. Her first husband was Heinrich Wilhelm Dursthoff (son of Georg Heinrich Dursthoff and Katharina Rebecca Steingrafen). They were married on November 1, 1826 in Bohmte. The Dursthoffs had three known children named Johanna Rebecca Auguste (Frau Felix August Heink), Theodore Marie Louise, and Marie Dorothea Henriette (Frau Gotthelf Franz Adolph Lehmann). Heinrich established a liquor and dry yeast Company in Dresden, Saxony, Germany in 1820. It was located at Friedrichstrasse 19 (the Manteuffel Brewery) next to the old Forsthaus (now no. 64). In 1837 Heinrich died. Anna's second husband was Johann Ludwig Bramsch (son of Franz Heinrich Bramsche and Anna Maria Margaretha Niehaus). They were married on February 24, 1838 in Tharandt, Saxony. Ludwig took over Heinrich's business. The Bramsches had five children named Victor, Natalie (Mrs. Heinrich Leopold von Zschau), Emilie (Mrs. Max Emil Hermann Weisswange), Margarethe, and Ludwig. The Bramsch family lived and worked at the Poppelmann house which was located at Friedrichstrasse 26 (now no. 52). Anna died on March 5, 1864 in Dresden-Friedrichstadt. The cause of death was smallpox.
