J.B. Ball was born April 25, 1916 and passed away on February 5, 2008. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Forestine Ball; daughter, Jeanna Salinas and family; grandson, James Thomas Ball; sister, Lois Imogene Roach; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Jack Ball, and brother, Robert K. Ball. During WWII, he served in the U.S. Army from March 18, 1941 to October 24, 1945, serving in Scotland, England, and France. J.B. was also with the expeditionary forces when they landed near Casa Blanca to invade Africa. He came to Tinker in 1947 and returned to active duty in 1951 during the Korean Conflict, returning to Tinker in 1952 where he eventually retired ending a 31 year federal service career. At the time of his retirement, he was a Program Analyst in the Directorate of Material Management. J.B. was a 32nd Degree Mason and, during his lifetime, he was also an accomplished pilot, once active in the Civilian Air Patrol. For many years, he took pleasure in his dune buggy, his motorcycles, and eventually his RV, where he and his wife traveled for many years with friends and family. J.B passed away at 91 years 'young' and his wit, his stories, his love, and his abounding enthusiasm for life will be tremendously missed by all. Services to celebrate his life will be 2:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at Vondel Smith South Colonial Chapel, with interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
