Charles Newman Dies At Dwight Hospital
Charles Newman, 55, Veteran of World War I, died Friday evening in the Veteran's Hospital at Dwight, where he had been receiving care the past month. He had been hospitalized here before being removed to Dwight.
His body was removed to the Clark Funeral Home, 1117 Jackson street. Funeral arrangement are incomplete, however services will probably be held Tuesday from the Clark chapel.
Mr. Newman, a native of Charleston, was born January 25, 1896, a son of Henry and Elizabeth (Johnson) Newman. He was a member of the American Legion Post of Charleston and the Presbyterian church.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Olive Shoot and Mrs. Myrtle Brainard, Charleston; two brothers, Clyde P. Newman, this city and Carl (Jack) Newman of Dallas, Texas.
Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home after Monday noon.
