Lane W. Sharman Sr. LA JOLLA, Calif. Lane W Sharman Sr., 86, died Aug. 3, 1994, at his residence.
A native of Winn Parish, Louisiana, Lane had lived in La Jolla for the past year. He also lived in Lake Tahoe and Reno. Sharman was a captain for United Airlines for many years, retiring in 1968. He graduated from the Air Corps Flying School and went on to serve in the 18th Pursuit Group in Hawaii.
Sharman also graduated from Louisiana Technical University, Ruston, where he was captain of the football team.
Surviving are widow, Waunita J., son, Lane W. and daughters, Patricia Lou McCoy, Pamela Rogers, Cynthia Roberts and Angela Smith, all of Southern California; and sisters, Mamie Hammons of Longview, Texas and Myitis Lester of Orlando, Fla.
No funeral is scheduled.
