MAIDEN - Quince Andrew "Andy" Killian, 82, of Providence Mill Road, passed away Feb. 28, 2009, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 13, 1926, in Catawba County, to the late David J. Killian and Minnie Sigmon Killian.

He graduated from Balls Creek High School. He served in
Company E - 2nd Battalion - 310th Infantry Regiment - 78th Division - US Army - WWII - Germany.
He retired from General Electric after 30 years as a transformer test man. He was a lifelong member of Mays Chapel United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher and on many other boards over the years. He was a member of Maiden Rescue Squad for 38 years and was a 19-gallon blood donor for the American Red Cross. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace W. Killian; four brothers, John M. Killian, J.D. Killian, Frank Killian, and Joseph Killian; and two sisters, Mary K. Lowman and Mildred Killian.
Graveside military honors will be conducted by members of American Legion Post 16 from Newton.
