Deloris “Dee” Dantine, 84, of Green Bay, WI died on Tuesday, Oct. 2 after a courageous 10 year struggle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born in Green Bay on April 26, 1923, the daughter of the late Joseph and Alvina (Collard) Dantine and graduated from St. Joseph Academy.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree at St. Norbert College and was a teacher and principal at area schools and in Madison. She was the first principal of the new St. Mary’s School in Peshtigo in 1957. She earned a Master’s degree in Social Work at Michigan State University after which she was employed as a social worker and Director of Foster Care for the Brown County Department of Social Services.

Among survivors are a sister-in-law: Mrs. Donald (Janice) Dantine of Cave Creek, Ariz.; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins. She is further survived by a special friend and helper, Rita O’Donnel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald; an infant sister and a niece, Deborah Dantine Frye.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 8 at St. Francis Xavier Church, De Pere. Rev. John H. Harper officiated and interment was in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
