"Franklin Goodrich, son of Alexander Hollister and his first wife, Prudence Goodrich, was born in Glastonbury, Conn., Oct. 14, 1819. He married Nov. 18, 1847, Martha Colton Strong, daughter of Horace Strong and Hope Hale. She was born in Bolton, Conn., April 20, 1826. Mr. Hollister is a farmer, and resides in S. Glastonbury, Conn. Children:
[1] Laura, b. Feb. 7, 1851.
[2] Anna Elizabeth, b. Nov. 29, 1855. (twin)
[3] Anson Goodrich, b. Nov. 29, 1855. (twin)

In his will, dated at Glastonbury on December 27, 1880, Franklin Hollister of Glastonbury directs his executor "to place proper head stone to my grave and to employ Wallace Case of Middletown to cut my name upon my monument." He names Ellen C. Hubbard, wife of Hobert Hubbard of East Hartford; James G Hollister, son of his brother, the late Elisha Hollister; and his two nephews, James G Hollister and Luther Hollister, both of Middletown. To his nephew James G Hollister he gives "my tool chest and all my tools and other implements of my trade."
