Born Nov. 15, 1920 in Wyalusing, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Frank A. and Edna Armstrong Angle. Marion attended the Wyalusing schools. Her main interest in life encompassed her home and family. Marion was a talented musician and was a former member of the Sunset Rangers Band of Sheshequin, Pa.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Pierce and friend Gary Armitage of Wysox, Pa.; daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Robert Brenner of Towanda, Debbie and John Lane of Towanda, Cheryl and Guy Cook of New Albany, sons and daughters-in-law. Ronald and Sally Burlingame of Towanda, Robert and Leanne Burlingame of Athens; a son, James Burlingame and friend Heidi Gowin of Towanda; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Potter on Sept. 7, 1944 and Willard Burlingame on March 29, 1980; two sons, John W. Burlingame on July 8, 1956 and Joseph W. Burlingame on Feb. 14, 1971; three grandchildren, Carl Johnson on Oct. 1, 1967, Karla Johnson on October 31, 1968 and Brian Johnson on Oct. 29, 1970.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, dec. 9, 1998, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Allen Hulslander, pastor of the Towanda First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, Pa.
