Zulma was the 75 year old daughter of Seneca Milo Dorr and Julia Caroline Ripley. At the age of 20, she was married on July 19, 1871 in Rutland, Vermont to 24 year old William Henry Steele, son of John Frederick Steele and Frances Mary Steele.

Zulma and William were the parents of Mrs. Neilson Parker, Frederic Dorr and Joseph Dorr Steele. At the time of her death, she lived and passed away at her home in New Milford, Litchfield County, Connecticut.
