Parents - John and Fern (Bingham) Willard

Attended Chester High School and graduated as a member of the Class of 1948.

After he graduated from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant on Sept. 3, 1955.

He relocated to Montpelier, Vermont after his military service he met his future wife. They were married on June 29, 1957 and settled in Barre, Vermont. He served with the Barre City Police Department as a reserve officer from 1960 to 1963 and went on to work in the granite industry for many years . He retired from Capital Custom Sandblast in Montpelier in 1995 after 25 years

Survived by his wife; 2 daughters and their husbands; a brother-in-law ; a grandaughter and many extended family members

Predeceased by his cousin, Colleen (Bingham) Fisk, of Chester; brother-in-law Rosaire Gagne and cousin Douglas Banks, both of Barre; nephew Stephen Gagne, of Hammond, New York, sister-in-law Alice Bylow, of Ward, Colorado; and aunt Viola Willard, of East Barre.
