George Daniel Groeber passed away on June 8, 2018 at the age of 84. He is survived by his five children, Elaine (Danny) Angel, George (Janet Brower) Groeber, Mark (Chrissy) Groeber, Grace Jones, Yvonne "Vonnie" (Ryan) Poston; sister, Alice Seeburger; two sisters-in-law, Tootsie Groeber, Doris Groeber; six grandsons, Danny Angel, Jr., Bryan (Kelly) Groeber, Dustin (Kelly Queathem) Jones, Trevor Jones, Jacob Jones, Christopher Groeber; three granddaughters, Angie Angel, Taylor Lauer, Raylene Poston; six great-granddaughters, Brooke (Tom)Niemela, Jordyn Angel, Logan Angel, Alexa Groeber, Kyndall Groeber, Kynsley Groeber; one great-grandson Max Angel; He is preceded in death by his father, Gustave Groeber, mother, Anna Mae Groeber, wife, Darlene Groeber nee Bock, four brothers, Donald "Gene" Groeber, Henry "Buddy" Groeber, Herbert "Sug" Groeber, Robert "Bob" Groeber. George was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jonesburg, a former member of the O'Fallon Lions Club, Auxillary Police in O'Fallon and the American Legion. George served his country in the United States Army. He worked for G&P Ditching in St. Paul, was a member of the Local 513 Union Operating Engineers for nearly 50 years. George was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and attended spring training many years, traveled and visited almost all 50 states. He loved going to the casino, tinkering around his house and always had the perfect yard. You could see his Christmas spirit by the decorations he displayed in his home and yard each year.
