MRS. E. ARMOUR
The death of Mrs. Eliza Armour, aged 82 years, took place In the Junee Hospital yesterday afternoon. Born at Gundagai, she was member of the Paton pioneer family, who resided at Mundarlo between Wagga and Gundagai, for many years. The deceased went to Junee 48 years ago, and after a residence of two years went to live in the mining village of Wantiool, where she lived until taken to hospital 11 weeks ago

Her husband predeceased her over 30 years ago. Four daughters survive, Mrs. A. Schultz (Alice) Gundagai road, Junee, Mrs. E. J. Schultz (Maud), Wantlool; Miss Lydia Armour, matron of Lane Cove House, Lane Cove: and Miss Doris Armour (Wantlool): and two sons, Messrs. Melville (Sydney), and George Armour (Junee)

Many old hands will remember the deceased's mother, who, even when an old women, would, on hearing a coo-ee from the opposite bank of the Murrumbidgee River at Mundario, hasten to the boat moored close by and row the person across for a nominal fee of a shilling. For long years she did this Job. No man could handle a boat better. Two brothers and one sister also survive. One brother, Andrew, was thrown off his horse and killed near Mundarlo over 25 years ago.

The funeral of Mrs. Eliza Armour, of Wantiool, Junee took place on Saturday, burial taking place in the Church of England division of the Junee cemetery. Before the cortege left St. Luke's Church, Junee, a short service was conducted by the Rev. H. Staples, assisted by Mr. Smith, who also officiated at the grave side.

Relatives and friends from Wantiool, Junee and Old Junee were present, and many wreaths were sent. The carriers were Messrs. George Armour (son), M. Schultz (grandson), G. W Bond (Old Junee). R. Liebeck (Wantiool). The floral tray was carried by Messrs. J. A. Quilter and R. Edwards.

The deceased, before her death in hospital, was one of four generations in the institute at the one time. These were the deceased, her daughter, her granddaughter and her great granddaughter. Till the day she went into hospital she daily carried water from a dam close by in a two-gallon vessel (with a stick to aid her to walk) for the watering of her choice flowers. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs Black and Pickles, Junee.
