Reese D. Reese was born on 11 April 1874 in Carmarthenshire, Wales, the son of James David Reese & Amelia Renowden Reese. He immigrated to the U.S. around 1882. He spent several years in Pennsylvania before relocating to Minnesota. He was married to Catherine Kemery Moyer (1877-1943) around 1901. They had several children. He worked as a locomotive engineer and a fee inspector for iron ore. They lived for many years on the iron range in Virginia, MN. He was widowed in 1943. He died on 22 September 1955 in Bloomington, MN at the age of 81. He was interred at Greenwood Cemetery.
