From the Eveleth News-Clarion (published 6/7/1951):

"Mrs. Rose Blatnik, 81, Eveleth, died Thursday, May 31, at the Virginia Municipal hospital after a lingering illness. She was born in Yugoslavia and had been a resident of Eveleth and Central Lakes for 50 years. She was a member of the ZAS, the Croatian Fraternal Union of America, and the KSKJ. Deceased is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Joseph Sedey, Mrs. Philip Peritz and Mrs. Frank Strukel of Eveleth, and Mrs. John Hobrle of Makinen; three sons, Joseph and Frank of Central Lakes, and Jack, Virginia; 19 grandchildren; one brother, Anton Hocevar, Eveleth. FUneral services were held Monday at 7:30 a.m. in the Graham Funeral home and at 8 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic church, the Rev. Fr. A. L. Pirnat officiating. Burial was in the family plot in the Eveleth cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary was held Sunday at 7:30 p.m.m at the funeral home."

Their family headstone was purchased by their son who spelled his last name Blatnick. Joseph and Theresa spelled their name as it was in Slovenia, Blatnik.
