Samuel DuBose Tanner Sr, 61, of 359 Milledge Ave, SE, died Sunday afternoon at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Tuesday at the Georgia Avenue Presbyterian Church, with the Rev J Edward Bates officiating. Burial will be in Tanner's churchyard, Clayton County.
Mr Tanner was born in Clayton County and had lived in Atlanta 40 years. He was a salesman at J P Allen for the past 12 years. He was formerly associated with Byck's Shoe Store for 20 years. He was a deacon at the Georgia Avenue Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs Elco Morris, and a son, Lt Samuel DuBose Tanner Jr, all of Atlanta; a sister, Mrs Lee Stanley of Forest Park; a brother, Henry Tanner of Jonesboro; a grandson, Hoyt Morris of Atlanta; several nieces and nephews.
