Suggested edit: Jennie Elledge, 81, of Wellsville, passed away at 1:38 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday June 22, 2018 at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Hankinson officiating. Burial will follow in Laddonia Cemetery.

Jennie Elledge was born Sept 19, 1936, the only child of Elbert J. and Eddie Lee Elledge. Her mother passed when Jennie was barely 18 and her father passed a short three years later. Although Jennie was born with cerebral palsy, she never let it interfere with her life. Jennie was a graduate of St Brendan High School in Mexico, MO with the class of 1955.

People who knew Jennie will tell you that she was "sharp as a tack". She made people laugh, was friendly, outgoing and detailed. They will tell you she was compassionate, enthusiastic and could be outspoken. It is well known that Jennie had a good memory. Jennie's memory was so good that people relied on her when they needed information. However, Jennie would say sometimes 'my remember gets too tired'.
Jennie first moved to Montgomery City as a charter member of Lyons Court, a group home in Montgomery City, MO. She then moved to Spencer House. It was during this time that she became a part of the congregation at United Methodist Presbyterian Church. She was a regular worshipper and could be found helping fold the Sunday bulletins and monthly newsletters. In 1998, when a broken leg required more assistance, Jennie moved to Gamma Road Lodge Living Center where she was living at the time of her death. Jennie was extremely appreciative of the many employees at Gamma Road Lodge Living Center who cared for her; as well as employees of Community Loving Care Hospice.
