August 17, 1928 - June 16, 2018
Kenneth E. Childers, age 89 of Burdine, Ky., passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Pikeville Medical Center. Kenneth was born in Letcher County, Ky on August 17, 1928 to his parents the late Adam Frank Childers and Sarah Childers. Kenneth was the husband of Laura Lee Childers. Kenneth was a Supply Clerk for many years at the Whitesburg (ARH) Hospital. He was a Boy Scout Master of Troop 328, a Deacon, Clerk, Sunday School Teacher, and a Song Leader, at Hylton Freewill Baptist Church. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Frank Childers, Jr, two sisters, Alka Jean McCown, Jacqueline Childers. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Laura Lee Childers, one son Richard Gregory (Glenda) Childers and one sister, Jolene Gibson and many family and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, June 18, 2018, 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home, Tuesday, June 19, 2018, 12:00 Noon visitation will be at the Hylton Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Hylton Freewill Baptist Church with Van Swindall, Homer Lee Mullins and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Albert Childers Cemetery on Rt #197.
