John A. Boratko, 71, of Jeannette, died Monday, June 11, 2018, at his home. He was born July 18, 1946, in New Kensington, a son of the late Andrew and Mary (Bobak) Boratko. Prior to retirement, he had been employed in the security department of Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. John was an Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War, and was also a recipient of the Bronze Star Metal. He was a member of the VFW Post 33, Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn M. (Williams) Boratko; and his son, Jeffery John Boratko. He is survived by his daughters, Ronna Stewart, of Cranberry Township, and Stacy Lauffer, of Greensburg; three grandchildren; and his brother, Bert R. Boratko, of Boca Raton, Fla.

Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton St., Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 11a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, with the Rev. John Smaligo, officiating. Private interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.
